Martha's Circle
September 2007
Even though January is the "official" start of a new year, many people feel the start of school, either in mid August or early September, signals the start of a "new year". Students advance to the next level and the football teams start a new season. It's the start of a new season for television programs, and (let's be honest), for some of us, it's time to "renew" the diet and gym membership after a summer of barbecue, potato salad, and ice cream! Among all of the fresh starts, one of the best is Martha's Circle, as it begins its "new year" of fellowship in September.
Martha's Circle is a great way for Mayflower women to get better acquainted and to once a month spend an evening of light hearted fellowship. It's also one of the best meals in town. Last year, we had a number of new faces join the group and hope this year will show continued growth. If you have never been to a Circle meeting, consider this your invitation! If you are a returning member, bring a friend! It's tempting to say "the more, the merrier" but it's hard to comprehend how this fun group of women could possibly get any merrier!
The September meeting will be Tuesday, September 4, at 6:30 p.m. in Milligan Hall. The hostesses for the evening will be Helen Johnson, Doris Hare, and Jeanne Garvin. These lovely ladies will be providing beverages and dessert. Everyone else attending should bring a covered dish to share and $1.00 for the collection.
For those concerned about driving at night, a ride with someone else can be arranged by calling Nancy Klos at 478-8438. We don't want anyone to miss out on a great evening of food and fellowship!
