Plymouth Guild

The Plymouth Guild's regular monthly meetings resumed September 11. All women of the church are considered members of Plymouth Guild and we invite and encourage you to be a part of this vital organization to the church. It is a great way to enjoy and meet some wonderful people. We invite you to enjoy our interesting programs, to be a part of our caring fellowship, and help with some of our exciting and worthwhile projects. We meet the second Tuesday of each month, September through May, at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments, followed by our program and then a short business meeting.

Billie Fritch led us in our Devotional in September and she also moderated the planning of our Mayflower Fall Bazaar to be held in Fellowship Hall Saturday, October 27. The Fall Bazaar is the only fundraiser that Plymouth Guild does during the year. The proceeds always go to Benevolence and special projects for our church. Plymouth Guild gives generously to both, but needs your participation for our success.

Merry Knowles announced that the candy making is coming right along and the price this year for our Aunt Bill's candy will be $14 per pound. The Bazaar doors will open at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 27. No candy will be sold prior to that time to anyone. Pecans will go on sale September 30 after both church services. Setting up for the Bazaar will begin on Wednesday, October 24. We encourage anyone in the church that can help us to show up at Fellowship Hall to help Wednesday, Thursday, and/or Friday of that week. Setting up is a big job and requires many hands and much help.

Lunch will be available at the Bazaar on Saturday and we encourage the shoppers to eat with us. Price of lunch will be $6 and includes a sandwich, chips, drink, and dessert. Lenore Ulrey will have the casserole containers available after church services for those who would like to contribute in that way. One 9 x 13 casserole recipe will make three of the containers. There will be baked goods, homemade jams and jellies, breads, Attic Treasures, books, and artwork. Don't miss the Mayflower Fall Bazaar!

Plymouth Guild will take over the duties of the church services on October 21. Your greeters, ushers, people's devotion, and flowers will all be provided by Plymouth Guild members at both services. That evening we will take the church van and go to Norman to show our support of Norman's new Congregational Church, led by our own Chris Moore.

The Third Tuesday Lunch Bunch went to Flip's Restaurant on September 18. These lunches will discontinue October -- December and resume again in January.

Mayflower Bridge will meet the 4th Tuesday, October 25. Come at 10:00 a.m., bring a sack lunch, and $2 (for prizes and benevolence fund) -- and be prepared to have a really good time. We are usually finished by 2:00. Call Erma Stewart, 341-6978 if you want your name added to the calling list. Both men and women are a part of our group.

Hymnals or Bibles can be dedicated to someone you want to honor. Contact Debbie Van Dyk at 946-9912 to have the proper inscription placed in one of these books and to notify the person or family that you are honoring. The $25 cost for each dedication will go to the Plymouth Guild Benevolence Fund.

The regular monthly meeting will be at 9:30 a.m., October 9. Our featured speaker will be Tresa Gouge with the Native American Legal Resource Center. Maggie Hayes will bring us our Devotional, and the hostesses will be Maggie, Doris Hare, and Vicki Wilcox.
