Plymouth Guild Annual Church Bazaar Saturday, October 27
Several groups of ladies have spent many hours each week since early August cooking up batches of Aunt Bill's Candy to be sold at the Annual Church Bazaar. Making Aunt Bill's Candy is a true team effort requiring 2-3 people for each batch. Because of the labor, time, and expense required, not very many people make it any more. As a result, there is often a crowd waiting at the doors of the church on the morning of the Bazaar, making a mad dash for the candy table to purchase precious pounds of this homemade treat. The candy sales are a big seller, but it certainly isn't the only commodity for sale.
In charge of the Bazaar is our own 'Aunt Bill', a.k.a. Billie Fritch. She began the consuming task of preparing for the annual event in August as well. On her 'to do' list is the collection and organization of donated household items, books, music, and movies. There are the frozen homemade casseroles and baked goods to gather and price. In addition, there is a lunch menu to prepare. And, last but not least, there is a need to get people to lend a hand with the sorting, pricing, set-up, and selling.
Obviously, this 'to do' list requires a lot of support from church members. Please remember this is the Guild's main source of income and it requires everyone's help in making it a success! Not only can members contribute with donations of items to sell, but they can also assist in the set up and staffing of the event.
Donated household items, books, music and movies can be brought to the church in a box or sack labeled 'Church Bazaar.' Casserole pans will be available in Milligan Hall after Sunday Services to take home, fill and freeze. Baked goods can be brought to the church the day before or the morning of the Bazaar. People able to lend a hand setting up or staffing the event can call Billie at 946-5705.
Mark it on you calendar and we will see you there!!!
