From Karen Spradlin, Justice & Witness Organizer Kansas/Oklahoma Conference, United Church of Christ On Sunday May 4th and 11th, we will be receiving the second national special mission offering of the UCC - the Strengthen the Church offering. This offering builds the UCC's future. It funds new congregations (we have three church starts in Oklahoma at this time - Norman, Enid and Owasso) and renews existing ones. It supports programs for youth and young adults and nurtures current and future leaders. And this year, for the first time, it will aid the God is Still Speaking Ministry and its message of inclusivity. Directed to Local Conferences (50% stays within the KS/OK Conference), Local Church Ministries and the Stillspeaking Ministry, Strengthen the Church gifts help to create vibrant church communities of extravagant welcome.
