Faith: Express Yourself

Faith gets expressed in many forms, some of the most important forms are charitable actions and kind and affirming words. The Biblical writers were inspired to say such things as: "Now abide these three - faith, hope and love . . . -- "we walk by faith not by sight . . . - "for by grace are you saved through faith" -- and "without faith it is impossible to please God . . . All these reminders indicate that faith is a crucial element in the spiritual life. We teach church school to strengthen the spiritual lives of faith of children and youth.

While faith is a deeply personal thing, the unique expression of it is a demonstration of hope and love. Indeed, our communities and the world need more of faith, hope, and love. It is my desire that we at Mayflower act in expressions of bringing God's message of affirmation, hope, and kindness to all peoples.

  • Starvation looks like an increasing problem globally, find ways to conserve your energy requirements and caloric intake or produce your own.
  • Immigration will be a pressing issue in the US as long as we border a third world country. Our policies and consumerism should strengthen the economy of our neighbors not exploit it.
  • Maybe spiritual life in public arenas could begin with integrity and the golden rule governing decisions in our nations political life and speeches.
  • Judge not lest . . .

Don't miss Church School Day at Mayflower during the second service May 11th.
