Martha Circle
March 2008
In spite of the blustery weather conditions, it was a big turnout at the February Martha Circle, hosted by Audrey Dragg and Merry Knowles. Apparently no one wanted to miss the tradition of a cozy dinner atmosphere that Audrey and Merry provide each year. In addition to a potluck dish, every one brought a valentine to exchange. These went into a decorated "mail box" that Audrey created and then numbers were selected for the drawing of the valentines. These ranged from candy or cards with sweet sentiments to crafty heart-themed items. For dessert there were two delicious choices - a chocolate cherry cake and a cherry "dump cake," both served with ice cream. Audrey retold the tale of St. Valentine with details many of us had forgotten. A lovely prayer and poem were given as devotionals to end the evening. Whatever the weather may have been doing outside, we paid it no notice. For, once again, we were snug in the warmth of each other's wishes of friendship and love.
Please join our fellowship next month on Tuesday, March 4th at 6:30 p.m. in Milligan Hall. Please bring a potluck dish to
share and $1 for the collection. Please call Nancy Klos at 478-8438 with any questions.
