Plymouth Guild is the principal women’s organization of Mayflower. All women of the church are considered members. We meet monthly for fellowship and refreshments, followed by a program, and a brief business meeting.

valentine's decorations enjoyed at february meeting
Decorations celebrated Valentine’s Day at Plymouth Guild's meeting Feb.13. Hostesses Merry Knowles, Billie Fritch and Vera Hefner provided a colorful, festive ambience and delicious refreshments. Vesta Edwards presented a devotional on the possibilities of "God as She."

Judge Niles Jackson spoke to us about the need for advanced directives in his very informative talk entitled “What if Teri Shiavo lived in Oklahoma?” Judge Jackson gave out copies of “Advanced Directives.” He cautioned everyone to go over this with his or her lawyer. The presentation was entertainingly informative and helpful.

tickets for "a touch of pink in spring" to go on sale
Tickets for Plymouth Guild’s Annual Spring Luncheon go on sale this month. The theme for this year’s April 12 luncheon is “A Touch of Pink in Spring.” The pink celebrates and acknowledges the recently purchased 30 pink tablecloths (our coupon box overflows thanks to your wonderful response to our call). We also purchased 12 dozen pink napkins and 150 water goblets for the church. Tickets for the luncheon are $10.

Where else can you have an elegant meal, fellowship with good friends, watch a style show with lovely Mayflower models featuring the latest fashions -- plus have a chance at one of many door prizes -- for only $10! If you love to wear a hat (and some of us do), this is an opportunity! Wearing a hat is optional for this festive occasion on April 12.

honoring loved ones with a hymnal or sanctuary Bible
Plymouth Guild originally purchased the hymnals and Bibles in the sanctuary. Some have been dedicated; others have not. It is a very warm memory to open one of those books and see it dedicated in the memory of -- or in honor of -- one of your family or a dear friend.

The next time you want to give a special memorial -- or a special honor for graduation, the birth of a child, an anniversary -- contact Debbie Van Dyk at 946.9912 about having a hymnal or sanctuary Bible inscribed with your honoree's name. Debbie will take your information and ensure the proper inscription is made and notification is sent to the person or family you are honoring. Cost for each dedication is $25.

The money goes to Plymouth Guild. Except for our generous Benevolence Fund, all funds raised by Plymouth Guild go toward purchasing items (such as the hymnals and Bibles) for the church when the church needs them. Consider honoring someone you love by dedicating a hymnal or a Bible in their name.
