Mayflower Martha's Circle

June normally signals the suspension of Martha's Circle till September. However, this summer, the fellowship will continue the first Tuesday evening of each month. Reminders will be placed in the Sunday Church bulletin prior to each meeting. The Summer Circle will be a relaxed opportunity for women of the Church to sit around the table and share a meal with no business meeting or planned activities by hostesses. Without designated hostesses, the menu will be potluck - salads to dessert. This will be a great chance to invite friends to a casual supper and have them experience first hand what a great group of women this Church has.

  Martha's Circle enjoyed a real growth spurt this year and it is the spirit and enthusiasm of the combined "newcomers" and "long-timers" that has encouraged the Circle to become a year-round gathering. For the empty nesters or singles cooking for one, they get to enjoy cooking for a crowd again or dining with a full table of people. For those whose busy lives limit the number of home-cooked dishes they digest, the potluck buffet is a monthly treat. Women isolated from female fellowship due to work or family obligations look forward to the bits of wisdom, acknowledgment, and encouragement that is guaranteed to be passed around with the bread. For some, it’s an evening out that breaks the monotony of our normal routines. Everyone expects there to be laughter sprinkled here and there among the health updates, price of gas complaints, family news, recipe sharing, home maintenance victories and defeats, books recommended, work issues, weather related topics, shopping tips, travel experiences, and, yes, of course, discussions related to our beloved Church.

  Over the summer, join us and get a taste (pun intended!) of our monthly feasts and experience the friendliness of our fellowship. If you have a busy summer schedule and do not have a Tuesday evening to spare, put "Martha's Circle" on September 3rd (the Tuesday after Labor Day) of your calendar. We would like for you to become a part of our growing circle of friends.
