THE NEW SANCTUARY MOVEMENT
I have some thoughts on how to approach church in the summer, particularly during the Distinguished Pulpit Series. First of all, our trustees want me to remind you to pay up your pledge before you head out on vacation, because our collections take a summertime dip of their own. We have made great progress this year on pledging and the financial support of the church as a whole, and I want to see if that trend can continue through the dog days. ::: more

How does the US farm bill impact Oklahomans, people living in poverty, and those struggling to survive in developing countries? Learn about this complex bill at a forum hosted by Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral at 3214 Lake Avenue in Oklahoma City on July 10th at 7:00 p.m.

Adult Ed
As a child I studied the life of my father's mother, Esther Davis. With parents busy in ranching activities, I spent a myriad of teachable moments with my paternal grandmother. Grandma and I pulled weeds in a family garden 30 feet from her doorstep, retrieved eggs from a henhouse 60 feet in another direction, hunted for mushrooms, berries and asparagus which grew wild in several nearby locations, and pursued many other endeavors that gave me such an earthy attachment to the land on which she lived. It also explains much of my draw to the sustainability focus of the Seven Generations adult Sunday class. ::: more

Plymouth Guild
Infant Crisis Services needs help and the Plymouth Guild voted to have a baby shower for them. Some of the items they especially need are: newborn diapers, preemie diapers, Size 2 diapers, Good Start formula with DHA and ARA, diaper rash ointment, teething toys, rattles, new diaper bags, new clothing (sizes 2T, 3T, and 4T, boys and girls). Please help this vital organization with your gift. June 24 is the deadline date. ::: more

My Flower Power
Along with May flowers we saw May showers, which had a little to do with us not making it to Sandy Springs Farm, that and a flat tire on the van.::: more
