Plymouth Guild
Plymouth Guild members are looking forward to getting started on the New Year! November and December did not present us with a lot to write about. Our November program was to be from the Office of Juvenile Affairs but the speaker was unable to make her speaking appearance.
We heard reports from our Treasurer and Bazaar Chairman, and were happy to learn that our Fall Bazaar cleared $8,699.40. We appreciate all the support that Mayflower members gave us in attending and bringing us wonderful items to sell -- and all the hard work of Chairman Billie Fritch and those who helped her.
A special meeting of the Benevolence Committee was held to approve the disbursement of some funds for the Red Rice Christmas Dinner. We moved to decide on the rest of our benevolence giving after the first of the year.
Jeannie Garvin showed us the gravy boats which Plymouth Guild purchased for our kitchen. We purchased 40 and you may have noticed them at the Harvest Home Dinner. Beverly Engell updated our inventory with the many additions that Plymouth Guild has made since a thorough inventory was made two years ago. This inventory is available in the church office.
Plans were made for a festive Christmas party and the installation of our new officers. Unfortunately, the ice storm caused us to cancel our December meeting, which was also our Christmas party. We will install our new officers at the January meeting. The new officers are: President -- Priscilla Decker; Vice President -- Debbie Van Dyke; Recording Secretary -- Vesta Edwards; Corresponding Secretary -- Lenore Ulrey; Treasurer -- Betty Dambold; and Parliamentarian -- Erma Stewart.
The January program will be Tuesday, January 8, at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. Donna Woods-Bauer, the Executive Director for OCARTA, will be speaking about their "sister-to-sister" program. Billie Fritch will give our Devotion and the hostesses are Ora Bullard, Evie Paul, and Erma Stewart.
The Third Tuesday Lunch Bunch will resume January 15. We will have a festive lunch and fellowship at Abuelo's on Memorial. Call Audrey Dragg for more information.
Mayflower Bridge was cancelled in both November and December, but will resume with fun and vigor on January 22 (4th Tuesday). We meet at 10:00 a.m. in the Seeker's Classroom. Bring a sack lunch and $2. Consider starting the New Year by joining us for the fun. Call Erma Stewart to have your name added to the calling list.
