a word from robin
a christmas present for darfur
To say that ministry at Mayflower church is one continuous series of surprises would be an understatement. These pilgrims are an extraordinary bunch, whether they are quietly delivering mobile meals, feeding and clothing the homeless, or healing sick children in Nicaragua -- it happens here with a kind of effortless grace! ::: more |
think on this
A growing number of dairy farmers have decided there’s money in manure. Cow manure – about 100 lbs. per animal per day – is collected and fed into a giant, airtight tank called a digester. Once in the digester, the manure is broken down by bacteria. The manure steeps for 20 to 100 days, emitting methane gas throughout. The methane gas can be captured and burned to make electricity. ::: more

pies & gloves & hats & more
The 363 Group Christmas project was very successful and the Group thanks the congregation for being such a big part of this project. Once again our congregation was quite generous and provided us with the hats, gloves and pies we needed to provide each of our clients a nice Christmas gift bag (which also included a pair of socks, some candy, a hygiene kit and a Christmas card) during our meal on December 16. ::: more |

connect the dots
In 1948 a young man in Germany abandoned law study, favoring music theory, composition and conducting for his analytical mind. After furthering his work under his grandfather at Florida State University he labored as a coach and accompanist for opera singers and dancers, thus assisting the autocratic conductor Sir Georg Solti. ::: more
a note of thanks
A grateful thank you to Mayflower for the lovely flowers delivered, the phone calls, the cards in the mail box, the emails in the inbox, the food in the freezer, your prayers and your love. I am certain the healing from the back surgery will move more quickly because of you. How fortunate I am to be part of this church family.
