363 group
Many churches work with the poor and homeless on Thanksgiving & Christmas. 363 is there the other 363 days of the year.
thank you from the 363 group
The 363 Group Christmas project was very successful and the Group thanks the congregation for being such a big part of this project. Once again our congregation was quite generous and provided us with the hats, gloves and pies we needed to provide each of our clients a nice Christmas gift bag (which also included a pair of socks, some candy, a hygiene kit and a Christmas card) during our meal on December 16.
We even had a few bags left over which we gave to a group in Norman proving assistance to homeless and others in need (coordinated by those starting the UCC church in Norman). We also want to thank the Mayflower Youth for providing gift bags for the kids and for coordinating the effort for the congregation to make Christmas cards for our bags.
wanna' know more about 363 lunches and how you can help?
The 363 Group provides a lunch every other Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the party pavilion in Wiley Post Park. Some of our guests are homeless, some not, but all are in need of a good meal. We have no eligibility requirements for our guests and provide anyone attending a good meal, as well as a few personal items and clothing. We also occasionally give out towels, blankets, and backpacks. In January we will serve meals on:
- Sat., Jan. 13
- Sat., Jan. 27
Anyone interested in joining the 363 Group can sign up at the deacon’s table in Fellowship Hall.
