another fine way mayflower builds community

By opening our hearts, minds AND building to the Oklahoma community, Mayflower supports and encourages a sense of community that is tolerant, diverse and giving. Mayflower's deacons, who have established a working, practical system for building and facilities use, works with various community groups requesting the use of Mayflower's building.

A recent example: The Oklahoma City chapter of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). The AFT wishes to thank Mayflower Congregational Church for the use of the church fellowship hall for their Jan. 17 Building Representative training seminar.  The OKC-AFT represents all teachers of the Oklahoma City Public Schools in contract negotiation and enforcement. The OKC-AFT wishes to especially thank Ron Werneke for his help in setting up the room for the seminar. The seminar was designed to help school AFT Building Representatives learn the latest techniques in helping new teachers, AFT members and potential members succeed in their vital task of educating the children of the Oklahoma City Public Schools.

Now that's community building!
