what about bob?

So, what about Bob? (Bob is Mayflower's new Director of Christian and Adult Education.) Bob Davis is husband to Carol Kirts Davis, and father/step-father of five children, Kaela, Nathan, Jordan, Brittany, and Nawal. His passion in ministry is education and outreach. Having a love of missions and Christian service, a favorite concept of Bob’s from the Bible is “ … in as much as you have done it to the least of these …” Striving to live in proximity to the example of Christ as an expression of God’s grace, he sets as a goal to show value to all people in his sphere of contact.

Born in Sheridan, Montana, Bob transferred his junior year from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology to attend Oklahoma Baptist University. After graduating in 1986 with a B.S. in Sociology and Religion, Bob has worked 18 years in the social services field. For a large portion of those years Bob has served as a part-time minister in the areas of Christian Education or Youth Ministry. He currently works full-time as a Training and Development Specialist at Rose State College in the EmPower program, a TANF special training project. His duties include developing and conducting vocational training curriculums including resume development, interviewing techniques, sales and marketing, medical office/terminology, work ethics, self-esteem, and relationship skills. Bob recently served his professional peers as the president of a statewide organization called the Oklahoma Association of Career and Employment Professionals.

Bob’s personal interests include cycling, health and wellness, sustainability issues, anything outdoors, and all activities in which his children participate. He is especially not fond of the University of Texas football team and the 1988 Kansas Jayhawk basketball team (he has been a Sooner fan since the early Seventies). Accept an invitation to his home and you will likely be asked to sample huckleberry jam or his prize-winning chili!

Don't let the upside down photo fool you. Toni Harris is always right on target and sunny side up, happening and hip, which is why she's great with the youth! (Toni is Mayflower's new Youth Director.) Toni Harris is an Area Sales Manager with AT&T and a long-time member of Mayflower, a former Mayflower trustee, and currently serves on the Interfaith Committee. She's worked as a youth leader for the past three years and enjoys riding her Vespa, yoga, gardening, traveling, and hanging out with her grandkids. (Can you believe she has grand kids?!?!?!)
