the gift of peace
the gift of peace: a play and a project
What would life be like if, when you walked down the street, the people you meet would greet you with a warm smile and a welcome of acceptance, despite your appearance, racial or ethic background? What would it be like if the leaders of our country were to greet each other and the leaders of the world with that same warmth and acceptance, letting go of political, economic, and religious differences? What if our leaders pursued “The Gift of Peace” first and foremost? What if our country’s leaders and diplomats were all trained in the ways and the disciplines of peace, instead of the ways and disciplines of fear, control and war? What if our country took just one percent or two percent of what we spend on war and defense and spent it on understanding and developing programs enhancing the chances for peace?
“The Gift of Peace” is a three-part project designed to educate, inspire civic action, and draw media/grassroots attention to support the establishment of a U.S. Department of Peace and Nonviolence.
