searching for fun & activities?

look on the education bookshelf!

Sometimes the curriculum just doesn't emphasize what you'd like it to OR maybe you'd just like to do something fun or different OR maybe the week's lesson plan is a little light on activities.

The bookshelf in the Education & Youth office is loaded with books to help you with last-minute, turn-key activities -- everything from coloring pages for the younger set to group games for older kids.

Additionally we have some curriculum geared toward specific subjects like sex education.

Recent additions to our growing library:

  • DVDs with short films on a variety of subjects with a global emphasis | mostly appropriate for 4th grades & above | we recommend checking the ratings and subject matter as appropriateness will vary
  • "I Will Be Your Friend" | song book and activities for young peacemakers| CD included | published by the Southern Poverty Law Center
  • childrens' books presenting same-sex relationships in a non-judgmental, healthy, inclusive way
