Max Sengui Special Education School
MMO's specific interest in children with hearing loss has prompted donations to the Max Sengui school in Jinotega. This school provides education to children with disabilities including a class of 19 deaf children and teenagers.
MMO supplies the school with educational materials and during MMO's August 2004 trip, Mayflower youth reconstructed playground equipment for the children.
Los Pipitos
Los Pipitos is a non-governmental organization founded by parents of children with special needs. Los Pipitos is a national organization with a local office in Jinotega.
Their mission is to aid families in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of children with disabilities. Their approach is family centered and a major focus is on educating families.
Los Pipitos is provides major assistance to MMO's programming through coordination of MMO programs for the deaf and hearing impaired children in and around Jinotega. Los Pipitos also helped establish and continues to support the Max Sengui School and the deaf class at Max Sengui as well as provide auditory support for children with hearing aids.
